Herbert and Annie came to Thornby we believe in 1910 from Swillington where Grandpa was stud groom to Sir Charles Lowther Bt,
who came down to assume Mastership of the Pythchley Hunt, naturally Herbert and Annie had to follow. Then in 1927 Sir Charles
moved to Erbistock Hall near Ruabon, Denbighshire, now Clwyd to assume Mastership of the Wynnstay Hunt again Herbert and Annie
were to follow with the younger children in tow. Thus the link with that area was established.
The current Sir Charles Lowther resides at Erbistock Hall, he is the Grandson of the old Sir Charles.

Herbert married Annie HOUSEMAN on 17 August 1893 in St Thomas a Beckett's Church, Hampsthwaite, Yorkshire.
